Anglers warned after whio death
An injured and malnourished whio/blue duck has been euthanised after being discovered with a fishing hook in its foot and line wrapped around its wings.

The Department of Conservation is going to new heights to check on the Whio (Blue Duck) population in the Tongariro area.
