Market returns to Northcroft Reserve
Kaz Cederwall, owner operator of Market Central says the local market and its summer evening add-on – Dinner at the Lake – is going from strength to strength.
"Each year Dinner at the Lake just keeps getting bigger and better, and I’m so grateful for the support from our community. This summer is our fifth summer series and honestly, I reckon it’s going to be our best yet.
“We’re kicking things off with a Christmas Night Market alongside Market Central, and it’s going to be such a fun night — around 20 food trucks, 80 arts and crafts stalls, a pop-up bar, bouncy castles, a magician, face painting and live music from the awesome Hot Tub funk band.”
Santa will be popping in between 6pm and 7pm, she says, and the Pākehe Lions will be on site wrapping presents for a gold coin donation.
The combined dinner and market event is this Thursday (December 18) from 4.30 to 8.30pm at the newly renovated Northcroft Reserve.
“It’s looking amazing down there and we’d absolutely love to see everyone come along,” she says.
Opening act Hot Tub is a 14-member local ensemble with nine-piece horn section and current vocal line-up featuring Emma Kettlewell, Sue Collett and Donovan Bixley.
Excluding Christmas Day, Dinner at the Lake runs for the next eight Thursdays 4.30-8.30pm, until February 12, with a variety of food options, live local entertainment and a licensed bar.
Other artists performing during the summer are Sonorous, Emerek, Bliss & Double Digits – all full bands.
