House sitting for a cause
People are required to volunteer in some of Taupō’s most stunning homes, while making a difference for breast cancer.
Breast Cancer Foundation NZ needs volunteers for the NZ House & Garden Tours in Taupō, on March 13-14.
The tours offer a look inside the beautifully curated homes and gardens featured in NZ House & Garden magazine.
Each year, more than $100,000 is donated to Breast Cancer Foundation NZ as the charity partner of the event since 2014.
Breast Cancer Foundation NZ chief executive Ah-Leen Rayner says the tours help fund research, education and patient support.
“They’re a much-loved fixture in our year, and a wonderful way for people to experience some exceptional homes while supporting a cause that touches so many Kiwis’ lives.
“So, we’re encouraging anyone who’s able to lend a hand to sign up and be part of something truly meaningful.”
Volunteers are required for morning, afternoon or full-day shifts to make sure the houses are looked after and tour-goers are kept safe. They receive a small gift in recognition of the generous donation of their time.
