A house-building fundraising project for Lake Taupō Hospice reached a milestone this week with those donating their time and resources celebrating the roof shout.

The Livingstone Let’s Build Project involves a two-bedroom cottage constructed on the former Ebbet Car Yard on the corner of Ruapehu and Paoroa Hapi Street.

The cottage should be finished in November and it will then be auctioned off by Harcourts with all proceeds going to Hospice.

Tradies and other supporters celebrated with a sausage and a beer on Monday.

Lake Taupō Hospice ceo Christine Rankin says it is a “huge” deal for Hospice.

“We are really excited and we drive past most days and compare notes.

“It truly does make a difference, it is so significant.”
