The fashion event of the century is coming up in Taupō – and likely quite a bit of fashion from last century as well.

The annual Hospice Second Chance Fashion Show is being held on Saturday, September 27.
Organiser Lyn Allam says the Hospice Shop on Totara St is being transformed into a “fashion house” for the event, with a runway down the middle.
Men, women and children will parade recycled fashion items down the runway which will then be for sale alongside items worn by the staff on the night.
Lyn says everyone is volunteering their time and most of the models and waiting staff are volunteers who work at the shops in Taupō and Tūrangi.
The $60 tickets are a fundraiser for Hospice but include a free drink on arrival and canapes throughout the evening.
Everything people see on the night is for sale and there will also be raffles and spot prizes.
“As they come off the stage they have to quickly get changed and those clothes get put out on the rack and get sold.”
Even the outfits worn by the waiting volunteers could end up with sold stickers on them.
To purchase tickets people can pop into the Taupō or Tūrangi Hospice shop or visit www.Laketaupohospice.co.nz.
The event starts at 6pm on Saturday, September 27 and goes for about 3-4 hours. There are about 100 tickets for sale. People can visit Taupō Hospice’s Facebook page for a chance to win tickets for two.
Running commentary will be done by Lake Taupō Hospice ceo Christine Rankin.
