College students take to the stage
Award-winning Mikayla Edwards will take to the stage as one of the acts at next month’s Midday Concert.
Students from both Tauhara and Taupō-nui-a-Tia College will present pieces at the September midday concert.
Tauhara College’s offering includes SmokeFree RockQuest solo/duo regional winner Mikayla Edwards (singer/songwriter) as well as Rachel Chester on clarinet, Jessica Riley on guitar, Aliyah Lynch singing, and Inoi Ngamotu on piano performing a piece by Beethoven.
The students are all looking forward to the opportunity to play in a public setting, says Tauhara College music teacher Michaela Pointon.
Acts from Taupō-nui-a-Tia College are likely to include several flute solos, vocal solos and performances on guitar.
The hour-long concert starts at noon on Friday, September 12 at St Andrew’s Anglican Church on Tītīraupenga Street, $5 cash only entry.
