Calm after the Storm
Storm the Cat
Storm is looking for a forever home after losing a leg to a gunshot wound.
The Taupō branch of Care NZ stepped in to save his life when his owners couldn't afford the surgery.
Storm's right front leg was so badly shattered it had to be amputated. During his care, he was also desexed and had a fractured canine tooth removed.
She said the owners couldn’t afford the cost of treatment so were going to take him home and put him down themselves, but the vet wouldn’t let them.
An X-ray of Storm’s broken leg
Storm is now recovering in foster care, and the rescue — which runs entirely on donations and op shop sales — is looking for a permanent home for him.
