Chief Executive Christine Rankin says the new branding is designed to better reflect who it is today while remaining true to the care and support it has provided to the Taupō and Tūrangi communities for the last 40 years.

While the logo, colours and visual identity are changing, the service remains exactly the same, she says.

Lake Taupō Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support for patients and whānau across the region.

The decision to refresh the brand was driven by a desire to strengthen awareness of Lake Taupō Hospice and the specialist palliative care services it provides.

Community Relations and Sponsorship Manager Jules Harvey says awareness is important to ensure people know what support is available and when they can access it, enabling patients and whānau to receive the right care at the right time.

The hospice provides free specialist palliative care for people living with a progressive, life-limiting illness throughout Taupō, Tūrangi and the surrounding districts, supporting patients and their loved ones with individualised care every step of the way.

At the centre of the rebrand is a new tagline: Here When You Need Us.

Jules says the phrase reflects the role Hospice has played in the community since its beginnings in 1986.

“Whether providing specialist clinical care, emotional support, family services, education or practical assistance, Hospice aims to be there whenever support is needed.”

Christine says the rebrand is about helping more people understand the support available to them.

"For 40 years, our focus has been on providing exceptional care for patients and whānau. This new look gives us an opportunity to tell our story more clearly, increase awareness of our services and ensure more people know they can access support when they need us."

The rebrand and new website have been developed in partnership with Korio Digital Marketing, who worked closely with the Hospice team to create a brand identity that reflects the organisation's values and future direction.

The new website will launch this week, and is designed to make it easier for patients, families, healthcare professionals, volunteers and supporters to access information and connect with their services.

The refresh also acknowledges the organisation's history. Lake Taupō Hospice's original branding was created by local artist Peter Wallers in 1987 and remained in use until 2005.

This latest evolution honours that legacy while positioning Hospice for the future, Jules says.

The new branding will start appearing over the coming week at Izard Hospice House and across the Hospice Shops in Taupō and Tūrangi.

A new awareness video has also been released, sharing the stories, people and impact behind Hospice care and helping the community better understand the vital role Hospice plays in supporting local families.
