Awards get down to business
More than 100 members of the Taupō business community gathered last week at Taupō Airport for the launch the 2025 Unison Great Lake Taupō Business Awards.
The event, hosted by the Taupō Business Chamber and supported by Originair and Taupō Airport, provided the first glimpse into what’s ahead for this year’s Awards season, including updated entry resources, new categories, and a renewed focus on celebrating the innovation and resilience of local businesses.
Unison also confirmed it would be the naming rights sponsor through to 2027.
Unison’s general manager Commercial and Regulatory Jason Larkin said there was “incredible value in connecting with and celebrating the local businesses who go above and beyond for Taupō’s community and its economy”.
Awards convenor Michelle Caldwell said the awards are about “more than trophies”.
“They’re about growth, reflection, and community. With Unison’s continued support, we’re able to build on that vision and create something really special for 2025 and beyond.”
Entries for the awards are now open, with helpful webinars and resources available on the awards website. Entries close at 5pm on June 13 and the Gala Awards Night will take place on Friday August 8.
