June 10: Blankets Without Borders Annual Thank You Morning Tea.

Bring your knitted/crochet wool blankets, scarves, gloves, hats, jumpers etc. New warm clothing for cold children in freezing Eastern European countries of Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Bosnia & Albania for this year's shipment 2026. Equippers Church, 65 Lakewood Drive, Taupō, 10am - 12noon. Contact  Lynette, 021 460 005.

May 30-June 1: Taupō Art Connection Taupō Art Trail, 10am-4pm each day, 26 artists. Visit taupoartconnection.co.nz for more details. 

May 30-31: Spa Jam takes place at Spa Park BMX track from noon till dusk. It is open to all ages, $15 to ride. Cash prizes and all proceeds go back into improving the park. 

May 31: This year’s Alpine Vintage & Classic Auto Show will take place at National Park School in Waimarino. There is a $2 gold coin donation for spectators, Sky Waka raffles, coffee & cake, barbecue station and other stalls. Gates open at 9am for all vehicle entries and participants. Those wishing to enter their vehicle can request a no-fee entry application via email at autoshow.at.the.park@gmail.com, by May 29. 

June 4: Greening Taupō Day returns on Thursday with a postponement day Friday if needed. Join the community at Tauhara Golf Course (side entrance off Tauhara Road, opposite BP Tauhara) from 10am–2pm to plant 4000 native trees. Enjoy environmental education activities, and grab a sausage or soup for a gold coin donation. More info: greeningtaupoday.org.nz  

June 5: Midday Concert, 5.30-6.30pm. Acclaimed Irish composer and master guitarist Dave Flynn returns to Aotearoa in 2026 with a new show, Flynn’s Celtic Strings. He is joined by Wellington-based fiddle player/vocalist Em Griffiths and Kawerau mandolin player/vocalist Lee Corbett Barton for a concert of Celtic songs, tunes and tales. This concert is supported by Taupō District Council from the Creative Communities Fund. Koha is appreciated.

Regular events 

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 10am-2pm: Become a Member at Active Arts Taupō. Love painting, pottery or mixed media? Join our vibrant creative community at 5 Redoubt Road. Connect, create and grow alongside local artists. 

Every Sunday: If you love to sing, have free time to take part in weekday concerts and can stay on your feet for a 30-minute performance, the AA65 choir would love you to join our group. We practise at 4pm every Sunday at Rotary House and sing at different venues every second month. 

Now until June 30:  The Tagged Trout Treasure Hunt involves 10 tagged trout released north, south, east, west and at the reef with each one caught earning a $500 cash prize. The Ukulele Strummers meet on the first Sunday of each month and singers welcome too. Join us for a fun time with music from the 60's, 70's, 80's. All welcome.
